12:00 PM - 2:30 PM	Pysanky (Ukrainian Egg Decorating) Art Demo with the Clifton Art Center - Pyansky (Ukrainian Egg Decorating) Art Demo Celebrate spring!  Learn how intricately designed eggs are created through this demo and lecture about eggs dipped in various saturated dyes and how wax preserves each step.  During the demo, the instructor will explain the history of art, while creating a decorated egg, which will be given to someone in the audience.  Examples of the instructor's finished work, references, and books will be provided for additional learning opportunities.  Each audience participant will receive a free ticket for a chance to win a spring basket of special items. Light spring refreshments will be served during the demo/lecture.  Instruction by:  Jenny Santa Maria. She has created countless beautiful eggs over the years which have been featured in notable publications such as the Wall Street Journal.  She refers to her work as batik eggs, though the process is rooted in the traditional art of pyansky and it is often associated with spring. Jenny has taught pyansky for many years in diverse settings such as museums, galleries, libraries, and artist retreats.  Pre-registration is required.  Ages 18+.  Limit is: 25 participants.
