11:00 AM - 12:30 PM    Watercolor Techniques Art Class with the Clifton Art Center - Watercolor Techniques Art Class
Learn watercolor techniques, including charging color, glazing, scoring, and negative painting. Students can work from a provided reference photo (emailed to them prior to class) or bring their own photos or objects to class to use as a reference. Each class will include a demonstration by the instructor.  Students must bring their own watercolor supplies to class each week. A supply list will be emailed to students who register (students' supplies cannot be stored at the Arts Center).  This art class is designed for adults of all ages.  It is geared to beginners and students with some watercolor experience. Light refreshments will be served on the last day of the class.  Instruction by:  Maria Siano - Watercolor artist of 7 years. Creating art is an energizing and enriching experience for her, and she is always eager to share her knowledge of watercolor techniques with students and other artists. Her work has been exhibited at the Montclair Art Museum and the Farmstead Arts Center.  She writes an e-newsletter and blog about watercolor techniques through her website www.artworkbymaria.com.  Pre-registration is required.  Ages 18+.  Limit is: 17 participants.

This Annual Intergenerational Band Concert, co-sponsored by the Clifton Education Foundation, the Clifton Board of Recreation, and the Clifton Alumni/Community Band, will be held at the Clifton High School Auditorium (333 Colfax Ave) on Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through band members, or at the door on the day of the concert.  All proceeds go to the Clifton Education Foundation and Clifton Community Band General Fund.  The cost is $7.00 per ticket. Children 12 and under are Free!

8:45 AM - 5:00 PM    Citywide Photo Scavenger Hunt - Citywide Photo Scavenger Hunt
Clifton Recreation Department Presents: CITYWIDE PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT   Sponsored by: Gild Realty SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2025Team Arrival at 8:45 a.m. Teams will receive a list, search for various garage sales items during the Citywide Garage Sale, and submit photos of their finds.  Create a team of 2 – 4 members and register with the Clifton Recreation Department.  This is not only a great opportunity for families and friends to have fun together while visiting some awesome garage sales, but you may even find some great treasures to buy.  Purchase of items found for photos is not required.   The contest starts at 9:30 a.m. but teams must arrive at Clifton City Hall by 8:45 a.m. for check-in, wristband distribution, team photo, and instructions.  You may spend as much time as you like searching but all photos must be submitted by 6:00 p.m. This is not a timed race but a contest to gather the most points. Shopping is encouraged.  There will be opportunities for additional points for various submissions (such as creative photos, number of garage sales visited, visiting unique locations, and rare finds).  Teams must be able to download an app on their phone to submit photos.   Prizes will be issued to the top 3 teams with the most points earned.  Points will be tabulated the week of Monday, June 9th.  Winners will be notified on Monday, June 16th.   The cost is $15.00 per team. The Clifton Community Band will be performing their 3rd annual outdoor concert around the City Hall Municipal Grounds/Barns on Saturday, June 7th beginning 4:00 p.m.  Invite family and friends out for an evening of great music and entertainment at this FREE concert. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs!
