Learn to Ride (A Bicycle the EZ Ride Way) • Register • View Cart •

EZ Ride and the Clifton Recreation Department are hosting a Learn to Ride bicycle class for the Clifton community.  The Learn to Ride program will cover proper helmet fit, what a rider should wear, ABC bike check, balance first approach, starting and stopping, and pedaling. This class is for children ages 5 and up.  Each registered participant must have an adult to assist them throughout the class (siblings for example registered for the class must have an adult per person). Please read the additional requirements listed below. The program is FREE however pre-registration is required. Participants will park in the Upper Parking Lot near the fieldhouse.  The program will take place in the lower lot (no cars allowed in this area). Instruction by: EZ Ride.  Limit is 14 per class.

Schedule:
  • 1:45 pm: Arrival for set up and bike check
  • 2:00 - 3:00 pm: Learn to Ride Class
Requirements (Please read carefully):
  • Ages 5+ only with an adult
  • Inflate tires before class and remove but bring pedals.
  • Remove and leave training wheels at home.

  • Seats should be lowered so the child's feet (both) can be fully on the ground and they can push.
  • Smaller bikes work best to learn. Proper bike fit is important. New bikes may be too big.
  • Children must wear a helmet & sneakers. A limited number of helmets may be available for those children who do not have one.  Please indicate on the waiver if a helmet is needed.
  • Attending adults should wear sneakers.
  • Please do not bring other children who need to be carried/held if you are attending to help another registered child.
  • All participants must complete the waiver below under forms and scan and email it back to cliftonrec@cliftonnj.org or return it in person to the Clifton Recreation Department at 900 Clifton Ave. once you register.
