CLIFTON PICKLEBALL



Clifton Recreation is pleased to announce that we are moving forward with the next stage of our up-and-coming pickleball program.  We have converted 20 of our tennis courts to become tennis/pickleball courts and we will be renovating 8 additional tennis courts, in the near future, to become dual-use courts (for a total of 28 dual-use courts). In addition to these dual-use courts, we currently have 2 pickleball-only courts ready for use at Richardson Scale Park and 6 pickleball-only courts called the “Pickleball Arena” located at the Clifton SkateZone. An additional 4 courts are being built at Anzaldi Park and should be ready by late spring of 2024.  The courts at the Pickleball Arena will be used for Scheduled Programs (such as clinics, lessons, camps, and tournaments) and Open Court Use (which includes general play and structured open play).  
 
We have conducted a very successful indoor program during the winters of 2022 and 2023 and have a series of lessons and clinics scheduled for this spring.  Last summer we conducted our first-ever, youth pickleball camp and will provide the camp again this summer.  
 
 
COURT SCHEDULES
Except when courts are being used for scheduled programs sponsored by the Clifton Recreation Department, all dual-use courts and the pickleball courts at Richardson Scale Park are open daily from Dawn to Dusk. The pickleball courts located at the Pickleball Arena are open daily from 8:30 AM to Dusk.  View the 2024 schedule for the Pickleball Arena. CLIFTON PICKLEBALL PROGRAM BADGES
Annual Pickleball Program Badges are required for the Pickleball Only Courts (this does not apply to tennis/pickleball court use) for individual ages 18+.  Current Pickleball Program badges must be worn and visible on players, while on the court, at all times.  Spot checks will be conducted periodically by City of Clifton representatives.  If you do not already have an account for this website, please created your account and then register for the 2024 Pickleball Program badge.  Annual pickleball program badges will cost $25.00 (residents) and $50.00 (non-residents) per year.  Badges are good for the calendar year only (January - December).
 
 
STRUCTURED OPEN PLAY 
We are working on setting up scheduled 2-hour Structured Open Play Sessions in the near future.  These sessions will take place at the Pickleball Arena.  In order to play at the Pickleball Arena during these times, you must pre-register.  Registration will be conducted on a weekly basis and will be on a first come, first served basis.  There is no cost to participate but you must have a current Clifton Pickleball Badge and you must be registered for each session.  There will be 2 courts designated for beginners and 4 courts for intermediate/advanced players. Dates and times will be posted once the program is developed.
 
TOURNAMENTS, SPECIAL EVENTS AND INSTRUCTION
Lessons and clinics will be scheduled during the spring, summer and fall.  In the future, there will be scheduled tournaments and special events conducted at the Pickleball Arena.  Individuals possessing a current Clifton Pickleball Program badge will receive various discounts on events and programs. Information will be distributed on this website and our Facebook page.
