Underground Explorers Camp

Kids learn about archeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long-lost cities in this camp! Discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts that were used in everyday life! Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils to understand what they can tell us about history. Each day also includes a make-and-take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world! Pre-registration online is required. Instruction by: Mad Science. Limit is 20 per camp.
Receive a $50 discount on Underground Explorers Camp if you register for both Gross Out Science Camp & Underground Explorers Camp. If participants are registering for both the Underground Explorers and Gross Out Science camps they must be picked up in between for lunch and leave the building. No supervision will be provided. Please call the Recreation Department at (973) 470-5956 to receive the camp discount Mon-Fri 8:15 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Scholarship Program:
A portion of your registration fee will be used to support summer program scholarships for Summer Fun in the Sun.
Health & Safety Requirements:
Face coverings are optional. While this establishment no longer requires masks to enter, please be kind to those who choose to wear a mask.
Participants are required to bring enough water bottles to last during class.
Please stay home if you have any viral symptoms or have been exposed to the virus - self isolate.
In the event that the program is closed due to a health emergency, participant will receive a partial refund for the days the program is required to be closed.
Hand washing / hand sanitizing will take place at the beginning and end of class. Feel free to bring your own hand sanitizer.
Respiratory etiquette for coughing, sneezing and nose blowing will be encouraged at all times. Practice and encourage these health guidelines at home.
Be sure to thoroughly wash hands, for at least 20 seconds, when you return home.
Instructors/staff will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects throughout the day.
